THROUGH CHALLENGE and Lyme Disease

A RECENT INTERVENTION

A Recent Intervention

I was called to an intervention for a retired RN. This RN was very concerned for her sister.
As we talked we found the nurse also was treated a few short years ago. As we chatted about things.
I found I was more concerned with this RN than I was with her Sister.

Now she and three members of her family will look into getting help.

This RN had been suffering Neurological, arthritic, Autonomic issues and had no idea that she was a chronic Lymie.

She said the doctor took a test and she tested positive right off the bite.

OK, I am not an MD. But I see this way too much.

When sufferers test the positive right of the bite.

I explained to her. She likely carried the bacteria for years and this Tick brought her to the doctor as she was dropping fast.

I suggest she was living with an active infection because detectable antibodies are not detectable for about 6 to 8 weeks I believe.

As we left, I looked into her eyes and told her.

A very common statement made to the Tick-borne disease community is:

You are looking great, of coarse, we say thank you, while we unravel on the inside.

Her eyes spoke back to me saying yes and now she has someone that believes her.

Yes, You won't get it until you get it. And then sometimes you don't get it until you chat with those that have it.

Lyme disease is not a medical condition that talked about much probably because no one we know has it. Or do they? The first time I came across it was in the entertainment new when one of those Real Housewives, Yolanda Foster, revealed she was suffering from Lyme disease. That was followed up by Canadian singer Avril Lavigne. Who would have thought that these celebrities would catch a disease from being bitten by tick? One good thing that has resulted from this is awareness by the general public that such a disease exist. It has to be diagnosed early so that it can cured with antibiotics. The danger is when the infection goes undetected for so long that infection sets in and spreads to the joints and nervous system. But even then, Lyme disease is still treatable. If you are an outdoors kind of person, you have to be careful of your surroundings and watch out for symptoms.

It is sad that many of us were misdiagnosed because the present FDA approved protocol tested is a dismal failure in the IDSA world. As it only detects less than 60% of the infected. The rest go on to the late stage. You seem to have a bit of faith in our medical community and less in the uninfected community. People are coming out and getting to know and learn that this is not about celebrities that got caught up in a bad storm and now we are getting this. This has been swept under the rug by the corruption of our most powerful private so-called medical leaders of the medical world for many years. The medicals leaders that caused this are in defense mode and trying to save face. We are struggling to survive while trying to make a change for our descendants whose lives will suck if this monster is not taken down before the boots on the ground are dead and gone. You are right, This is a challenge if that was what you were trying to say. Thank you for your input. David R Thomas - Lyme Advocate
